A Nightingale Sang

Toddlers, parents and older people singing and raising their hands at an inter-generational music sessionThe impact of young children and older people spending time together and sharing experiences has long been known to be very positive. ‘A Nightingale Sang’ sessions are where different generations of our community come together to sing songs and make music. They are held in addition to our regular children’s sessions, in a variety of care homes and other settings in the local area. Keep an eye on the diary for any forthcoming dates.

Toddlers, babies, parents and older people playing a game with a large sheet at an inter-generational music sessionThese sessions are very interactive, with sections including simple percussion instruments (enough for one each), sensory material such as scarves or ribbons for everyone to wave or shake and action rhymes/ songs. All songs are well known ones or so simple as to allow everyone to participate.
